It is important to evaluate all types of texts, including websites. Before you use a website, ask yourself these questions. Does it have the information you need? Is the information current? Why was the website created? These questions will help you evaluate websites!

The race is on! Be the first to build your rocket and blast off into space! Two other players will be competing against you, so be sure to evaluate your sources and choose the best one for your job.
Books and websites are a lot alike. Just like books, websites have different purposes.
Just like a book, you can evaluate a website by asking yourself:
WHAT
does the information teach you?
Is the information
CURRENT
?
WHY
was the information written?
There are four jobs you need to do to build your rocket. For each job, you will see four websites that might help you. Choose the website that will help you the most. Then type in your reason for choosing that website.
If you ever need help, click on the purple arrows. Pay attention because there will not be any arrows to help you on Job 4!
Try to be the first one to build your rocket! Good luck!
Click on each arrow to learn more about them.

Evaluating means making a judgment about what you read.
Evaluate these websites to be the first to build your rocket.
First look at your job. It is in the upper right corner. Then evaluate the four websites. They are labeled A, B, C, and D. Choose the website that is most helpful in completing the job. Then tell why you chose that website.
Repeat for all four jobs.
